The glaring issue that Buffalo Bills fans have been pointing out for years is finally starting to tank this team. Without a reliable top pass catcher, Josh Allen's production has been inconsistent. The Bills haven't had a true top receiver since trading away Stefon Diggs years ago. Unfortunately, players like Keon Coleman and Josh Palmer have failed to take his place.

But the Bills should have plenty of opportunities to fix that problem in the offseason. The 2026 NFL Draft is loaded with talented wide receivers.

In his recent mock draft, ESPN analyst Field Yates has Buffalo taking Washington receiver Denzel Boston in the first round.

Heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, the Bills will no doubt be on the lookout for another receiver. As Yates puts it, "It's no mystery that the Bills are still looking for a game-altering receiver after Keon Coleman's down year and Khalil Shakir's inconsistent campaign. Boston has the potential to check that box for Buffalo with his size at 6-4 and alignment versatility."

Boston's frame and contested catch ability may give fans in Buffalo pause, as Coleman was hyped up for similar reasons. But the Washington wideout is a much more developed prospect than Coleman was coming out of college.

He puts up plenty of highlight catches, often using his frame and strong hands to overpower defenders at the catch point. The wideout is a major threat in the red zone, hauling in 11 touchdowns this season. But Boston isn't limited to a classic "X" receiver role. He can play out of the slot, using his underrated athleticism and route running to gain separation from linebackers and safeties.

Most importantly, he's reliable. He rarely drops the ball and seems to have a consistent understanding with his quarterback. When passers put the ball in his area, they can trust him to come down with it.

Together, Allen and Boston could form one of the most dangerous offensive duos in the NFL. If this pick lived up to expectations, it could be the key to unlocking the Bills' offense over the next five to ten years. Sure, there are plenty of needs on the defensive side of the ball as well. But if the Bills have a chance to draft a new top pass catcher for Allen to work with, it will be difficult to pass up.
