It doesn’t matter what opponent a team is facing a certain week because we know that anything can happen on any given gameday. We have seen the worst teams get uspet wins over the best, even though no one may have predicted it. When it comes to the New York Jets, the Buffalo Bills have had some trouble with them in their matchups.
However, that wasn’t the case last season as the Bills swept the Jets and beat them by a combined score of 65-18. Overall, the Jets were a complete mess once again and now Aaron Glenn faces mountains of pressure before his time as the head coach runs out.
The Jets had a solid NFL Draft, where they managed to bring in some quality and promising young talent. However, is it enough for them to do better than they did last season? Only time will tell.
Going into training camp, we had the chance to speak with Charlie Baduini, who is the Site Expert at The Jet Press, and Baduini was able to give us some valuable Jets insight for Bills fans as the season approaches.
Jets insights for Bills fans ahead of training camp
1.) There's no doubt that Aaron Glenn's first year last season was beyond disastrous. Even though this could be another rough season for the Jets, what are some realistic expectations that fans have of Glenn in 2026?
"I think Jets fans just want to see Aaron Glenn put a respectable team on the field in 2026. It's fairly obvious there's still a decent-sized talent gap between themselves and the rest of the conference, particularly in their own division, and just want to see the team not get run off the field before halftime. If AG can pull that off, there's a good chance he's back in 2027."
2.) The re-signing of Breece Hall was a bit surprising, but the Jets managed to keep one of their better playmakers. Do you personally believe that this was a good move by Darren Mougey, or do you think that the Jets should have gained value for Hall via trade?
"Retaining Breece Hall was the right move. Outside of Garrett Wilson, he's their best offensive player, and as I mentioned before, the Jets need to be competitive in 2026 if Glenn and Darren Mougey want to keep their jobs. Retaining Hall was a step in the right direction and sent a positive message to the locker room about players who want to be there."
3.) What is the overall sense amongst Jets fans when it comes to rookie WR Omar Cooper Jr.? I believe that he would have been a great addition to Buffalo's offense, but the Jets managed to get him late in the first. Do you expect him to be an immediate contributor?
"Omar Cooper Jr. should have some chances early on to contribute, but I believe he'll be third in the pecking order behind Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell. Throw in their other first-round pick, Kenyon Sadiq, and it's unclear if Cooper is going to have a chance to shine right away. Sure felt good snagging him one pick in front of Buffalo, though!"
4.) Who is a player on the Jets heading into this season that is being severely overlooked and why?
"Most Jets fans likely have Adonai Mitchell circled as their most overlooked player. He had some rough moments with the Colts, but was always buried on Indy's depth chart. In New York, he's easily the Jets' No. 2 option in the passing game, and early reports out of summer activities suggest he's primed for a breakout."
5.) If you had to give an early prediction, do you believe the Jets and Bills will split the season series or will one team sweep the other?
"When it comes to divisional matchups, there's always a chance regardless of records. The Bills have owned the Jets over the last two years, and setting aside 2025, they always seem to play them well at MetLife Stadium. The Jets certainly have a shot when they play them at home, but I wouldn't bet on it or anything."
