When you look at the past five seasons, the Buffalo Bills have been championship contenders and going into each season. The only season where it was echoed that they were the top favorites was going into the 2022 season, due to the fact that they had signed Von Miller in free agency and were coming off an overtime thriller loss where that game forced a rule change in the playoffs where both teams get a shot on offense.
The Bills know how to dominate in the regular season, but the playoffs have been a different story. They’ve lost in the divisional round three times and in the AFC championship two times (four times by the Kansas City Chiefs). It’s getting quite annoying for Bills fans to get so far, but not far enough.
Bills face the most pressure in recent franchise history in 2025
Moe Moton from Bleacher Report created a “Pressure Meter” for the top NFL contenders who have a serious chance at winning the Super Bowl, ranking from 1-10 (with 10 being the most pressure). On Moton’s list, the Bills were obviously on it but they had the highest pressure rating at 10 overall, ahead of everyone else making them with the most pressure to win the Super Bowl this season.
"Buffalo's deep playoff run would seem somewhat incomplete if it doesn't conquer Kansas City along the way, but if the team wins the Super Bowl, it would be a relief for a franchise that's made it to the title game multiple times only to fall short in all those matchups."Moe Moton, Bleacher Report
To go this long without a Super Bowl appearance with an MVP quarterback in Josh Allen is ridiculous and fans have a right to be upset about it. The Bills have one of the best overall rosters across the NFL, and there has been a great amount of continuity in the front office and the coaching staff.
However, the defense has been a liability in the playoffs and Sean McDermott’s coaching decisions have haunted the Bills in the playoffs. Enough is enough. Heading into this season, the Bills have all the tools that they need which includes a lot of depth on defense. The time to win it all is now, Buffalo.
