Even though fans are hoping that the Buffalo Bills will pull off some great moves this offseason, it won’t be easy. They have to get under the cap and there isn’t a ton of room for them to bring big-time players either. It’s not impossible, but it certainly isn’t easy.

As for their rivals in their division, both the Patriots and Jets will have plenty of money to use, per Over The Cap. The Jets have the most right now in the AFC East with over $83 million to spend. Now granted, they aren’t exactly a great destination, but it’s hard for players to turn down contracts that involve a lot of money.

With the Jets being arguably the worst team in the NFL, it would be no surprise for them to overpay in free agency. Or, even have to potentially trade for a player and give out a ton of money for a player like Cowboys wide reciever, George Pickens.

According to Adam Schefter, the Cowboys are expected to franchise tag Pickens, but there is hope that the two sides can agree on a long-term deal. However, the Jets could very well try and trade for Pickens if that does become the case.

George Pickens landing with Jets would be comedy for Bills fans

Mason Cameron from Pro Football Focus (PFF) listed the Jets as the best landing spot for Pickens, assuming that the Cowboys would consider trading him if they indeed place the franchise tag on him. Cameron talked about the potential duo of Pickens and Garrett Wilson being “enticing”

The Jets have more issues than to bring in another wide receiver opposite of Wilson. In addition, it wouldn’t make sense for the Jets to trade for Pickens and give him a massive contract when they have no answer at quarterback, because it certainly isn’t Justin Fields.

While this seems very unlikely, anything is possible in the NFL. The Bills don’t need to worry about the Jets, but at the same time, Buffalo better hope that the Jets don’t have this out-of-nowhere turnaround that we see teams having these days.

Pickens is a special player and he had a breakout season in Dallas. No one should be surprised to see Pickens with a star on his helmet in 2026, but we have seen all kinds of wild news break before. Only time will tell.
