Bills fans can only laugh as Aaron Rodgers' time in the AFC East is almost over

It's all about the memories we made along the way.

Remember when the New York Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers and suddenly the Buffalo Bills were no longer going to own the AFC East? It's hard to forget, especially when it's all people were talking about.

Well, four snaps into his Jets career in 2023, Rodgers tore his Achilles and missed the entire season. We obviously don't root for injuries but the Jets didn't compete without Rodgers, finishing with a 7-10 record.

In 2024, despite their quarterback being 40 years and coming off a major injury, people still thought the Jets would win the division and make the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the Bills were being left for dead because they lost a lot of key players in the offseason. Suddenly they went from owning the AFC East to being an after thought all because the Jets had Rodgers coming back from injury.

Well, fast forward to present day, and those takes have not aged well. The Bills are 9-2 on the year and are running away with the AFC East while the Jets have won three games. Rodgers doesn't look like Rodgers anymore and recent reports have indicated that he won't be in New York past the 2024 season.

It doesn't look like Aaron Rodgers will be calling the AFC East home anymore

Dianna Russini reported last week that the Jets weren't in on Rodgers being the guy who takes them to the promised land anymore and that players on the team were tiptoeing around the fact that he's not the same guy who won four MVPs during his time in Green Bay. She had also reported that Rodgers could be placed on IR, benched, or even straight-up cut before the season was over.

Now that Russini's report has had time to surface, it's now not a matter of if Rodgers will be cut loose from the Jets but when. This was a talking point on GoJo and Golic on Tuesday with the big question being, "With Aaron Rodgers, it's not a matter of if the Jets will go in a different direction at quarterback next year. The drama has gotten to the point of, 'Is it going to happen this year? Will Aaron Rodgers finish the season with the Jets?'"

Bills fans had to hear all about how the 40-year-old quarterback was going to save the Jets from obscurity but it never panned out now, did it? The Bills have continued their winning ways while Rodgers didn't save the Jets and could even be cut before the season is over. Jets gonna Jet.
