The NFL trade deadline has passed us and all 32 teams will now finish out the season with who they have on their roster. Whether your team is a contender or seller, this time period is always exciting because it’s full of rumors and breaking news that involves multiple players and sometimes star players.

One of the biggest trades that took place yesterday was star cornerback Marshon Lattimore being traded from the New Orleans Saints to the Washington Commanders. With the Commanders taking control of the NFC East, it’s no surprise to see them acquire a star defensive player to add to an already solid unit.

One team that was quiet and didn’t have a lot of rumors surrounding them were the Buffalo Bills. The day after their Week 6 win over the New York Jets, the Bills made a splash by trading for wide receiver Amari Cooper to add to their receiving core. Fans can consider that move being the Bills’ one trade deadline transaction.

However, with the Bills being at 7-2 and with a glaring need at defensive tackle, it is a bit surprising to see Brandon Beane remain quiet and not trade for some help. The only news that the Bills made at the deadline was the releasing of safety Mike Edwards.

Buffalo Bills not trading for DT help will haunt them in postseason

One of Buffalo’s biggest weaknesses this year is stopping the run. Through nine games, Buffalo’s run-defense is giving up 123 yards per game, with five of those games being over 100+ yards. In addition, the Bills placed rookie defensive tackle DeWayne Carter on IR, and have recently just placed Dawuane Smoot on IR as well.

Not to mention, they have lost Ed Oliver for a couple games this year to a hamstring injury. The Bills have an issue at this position and they failed to address it. Currently at 7-2, the Bills look like a great football team. Come playoff time, they may not be a great team if teams are running all over them and keeping Josh Allen off the field.
