After getting embarrassed in Week 12 against the Houston Texans, the Buffalo Bills are back in the win column after walking into Pittsburgh and beating the Steelers, 26-7. The Bills scored 23 unanswered points and the blowout started early in the second half after Buffalo scored a defensive touchdown to take the lead.

Buffalo avoids getting removed from the playoff picture going into December, and will head into next week’s matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals at 8-4. No matter what anyone says, this was a huge must-win game for the Bills. Since the Texans had won earlier in the day, if the Bills had lost this game, they would be out of the playoff picture.

The defense for the Bills was the biggest X-factor in this win for Buffalo. While Keon Coleman and Josh Allen got into the endzone, the defense for Buffalo is what jumpstarted the run that the Bills went on in the second half.

Bills defense steps up big time in win vs. Steelers

The Steelers were up 7-3 to start the second half and Joey Bosa forced a fumble after sacking Aaron Rodgers, and Christian Benford was at the right place to pick up the ball and run it back for a defensive touchdown. Rodgers went down with an injury, but eventually returned to the game. However, it didn’t come without another big play from the Buffalo defense.

Steelers backup quarterback Mason Rudolph came into the game for one drive and threw an interception to Benford that set the Bills up for another touchdown.

Buffalo only gave up 10 first downs, and only allowed 166 total yards. In addition, the Steelers only converted on three third-downs out of nine tries.

I get it, Pittsburgh’s offense is nothing dynamic and Rodgers was playing with an injury. However, this Buffalo defense has been atrocious throughout this season so it was phenomenal to see them finally have a strong game in a must-win game.
