He's leaving it all out there.

With one more preseason game to go, the Buffalo Bills currently stand at 2-0 with dominating wins over the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns. Players have had two games to show the coaching staff why they deserve a final roster spot going into the regular season, and they aren’t making the decisions easy at all.

Whether it’s players who have been in the NFL, were just drafted, or even signed as an undrafted free agent, the Bills are going to have let some players go that could very well end up on another active roster at some point this season. We see it all the time, and it’s all part of the business.

In recent memory, the Bills have had players like LB Joe Andreessen and WR Tyrell Shavers make the final roster in what came as surprises. However, they are prime examples of what happens if you work hard and take advantage of the opportunities that are given to you. The Bills have another player like that in undrafted free agent cornerback, Kani Walker.

Bills may have a diamond in the rough on defense

Walker wasn’t drafted in this year’s NFL Draft, and chose to sign with the Bills to be part of a defense that was going under a revamp. He had played college football at Louisville, Oklahoma, and Arkansas in college.

Throughout this summer, Walker has been catching the attention from his teammates and coaches despite him facing an uphill battle to make the final roster. However, through two preseason games, Walker is making it impossible for the coaches to ignore what he could bring to the defense under Jim Leonhard.

Kani Walker has impressed greatly through 2 preseason games

In his first game as a Bill against the Panthers, Walker managed to secure his first interception in the NFL where he jumped in front of a quick pass near the line of scrimmage and picked off Kyle Trask. He also had great vision for knowing where the ball was going on the ground.

Then in Saturday's win against the Browns, Walker got more opportunities and he did not fall short of expectations. He finished the game with 3 total tackles and a pass deflection. There was even a point in the game where the Browns were going for a first-down conversion on third-down, and Walker was the first player to make contact to force a fourth-down.

With one more preseason game to go, Walker should definitely be considered an immediate practice squad addition. However, I would not be surprised if he has yet another solid game to where he could secure a roster spot ahead of another defender.

Under Sean McDermott, the Bills always brought on a good amount of cornerbacks to the final roster. It will be interesting to see if the Bills change it up this year with a new coaching regime and new defensive scheme.
