Anyone who consistently follows the NFL knows that the Buffalo Bills have a need to fix their wide receiver room as the NFL Draft approaches. For the past two seasons, the Bills’ offense has been limited in the passing game due to lack of separation from their receivers. They haven’t had a true No. 1 receiver since Stefon Diggs, but them trading for D.J. Moore this offseason takes care of that void.
At the same time, Moore is not going to be the only deciding factor on the Bills excelling in the passing attack. While Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid are solid in the middle of the field, the Bills are still lacking another weapon on the outside.
Many fans are hoping that the Bills go with a wide receiver in the first round of the draft, but they were just caught sleeping at the chance to add a current receiver for a cheap price.
According to Adam Schefter at ESPN, the Green Bay Packers have traded wideout Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for 2026 5th-round pick and a 2027 6th-round pick. Wicks will also sign a one-year, $12.5 million deal with the Eagles.

Bills miss out to add immediate wide receiver help for cheap price
I’m not saying that missing out on Wicks is the biggest loss in the world, but to only give up two Day 3 picks in total for a receiver who has plenty of experience and has yet to enter his prime would have been a solid addition for Buffalo.
When you look at Wicks’ stats over the past three seasons in Green Bay, they don’t pop out as anything spectacular. Then again, the Packers’ offense has a lot of playmakers both at receiver, running back, and even tight end. It was tough to get the ball on a consistent basis. Wicks has just 1,328 yards in three seasons, but he does have 11 touchdowns and that was with him being a consistent WR3 for Green Bay.
The Bills could have used Wicks has a No. 2 target opposite of Moore, but now he will head to Philly where he looks to be a potential replacement for A.J. Brown, should he potentially get traded before the 2026 season.
No one would be surprised if Buffalo is going for a wide receiver in the first round, but if they had the chance to add Wicks for the price that the Eagles paid, it would give them a ton of flexibility going into April 23rd.
