It was quite the game for the Buffalo Bills and the long trip back from Seattle to Orchard Park should be a fun one. This is the first game since Week 3 where the Bills completely dominated from start to finish. They never let the Seahawks get any momentum and Seattle never had a lead. Buffalo will leave Seattle with a 31-10 win and head back home for a divisional game next week against the Miami Dolphins.
On both sides of the ball, the Bills were punishing the Seahawks. For the second consecutive week, the Bills have put up 30+ points and their defense played phenomenal situational football. The Bills need this type of win. While they have scored 30+ points in multiple games, this is the first time they have been able to do it against a team that had a winning record heading into a game.
On the offense, Josh Allen once again shined for the offense throwing for 283 yards and 2 touchdowns. However, his interception-free streak came to an end with throwing one for the first time this season. Running back James Cook had a field day against Seattle’s horrendous run-defense, rushing for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Two receivers that stood out for the Bills were Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman. Shakir continues to show why he is starting to become “Mr. Reliable” in this offense with 9 receptions (off of 10 targets) for 107 yards. Coleman started off the Bills’ dominance with an impressive one-hand touchdown grab over Tariq Woolen in the first quarter and finished the game with 70 yards.
On the defensive side, one Bills’ defender made history for themselves by recording their first ever interception. Coming into this game, defensive tackle Austin Johnson had never recorded an interception at any level of football in his career. On an attempted screen pass, Johnson read Geno Smith correctly and off of a tipped pass, Johnson picked off Smith.
Overall, Buffalo’s defense shutdown Seattle’s rushing attack to just 32 total yards and did not allow Geno Smith to get into the endzone.
Buffalo Bills move to 6-2 on the season
Not only do the Bills move to 6-2, but they now take a commanding lead in the AFC East with the next closest team near them is the Dolphins at 2-5. They took an important road win and will now have the chance to take an even further lead in the division next week when they host the Dolphins in Orchard Park next Sunday.
