Bills' 2025 opponent already guaranteeing an Eagles win will haunt them

One of the biggest opponents that the Buffalo Bills will face in 2025 is the Philadelphia Eagles, who are the defending Super Bowl champs and are looking to run it back. We almost had an Eagles vs. Bills Super Bowl matchup this past February, but Buffalo suffered yet another heartbreak at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Up until the NFL schedule was officially released, there was a good amount of speculation that the Eagles and Bills could potentially face off against each other in some sort of primetime matchup early or in the middle of the season. Instead, Buffalo and Philly won’t see each other until Week 17 at 4:25PM in Orchard Park.

In what could be a potential Super Bowl preview, putting this game late in the season when it could really mean nothing for one or both teams is a major miss on the NFL’s part. However, it’s set in stone so hopefully by the time Week 17 comes, there is a lot on the line for both teams.

Now, there should be no surprise that the Eagles are feeling confident about themselves. They dominated the Chiefs in the Super Bowl and didn’t lose any major pieces from their Super Bowl roster this offseason. Saquon Barkley got an extension and Howie Roseman kept building up the defense. There is no question that the Eagles are setting themselves up for another Super Bowl run.

At the same time, we have to be realistic with the fact that it is very hard to win in the NFL, let alone go undefeated in the regular season. We have seen it happen, but it is not common. However, one Eagles player looks like he is confident that Philly will be going 17-0 in the regular season which would include a win over the Bills.

Eagles’ offensive tackle Lane Johnson is predicting that the Eagles will go 17-0 in the regular season, and that was the wrong move by him.

Lane Johnson makes a bold claim that could come back to haunt Eagles

Now, whether Johnson was kidding or not, it’s still out there and teams who are playing the Eagles should be taking note of it. I get it, the Eagles are the team to beat in 2025. However, making an early claim like this is setting the Eagles up for failure and Johnson could be mocked later on if Philly doesn’t go undefeated in the regular season.

The Eagles will take on the Bills in Week 17 at 4:25PM EST live from Buffalo in what should be a (hopefully) epic battle between two of the best teams in the league.
