One of the advantages that the Buffalo Bills have when it comes to November/December football is the weather factor, as it gets very cold in Western New York during that time. So, when you see teams who either play in a dome at home or come from a warm-weather city, they tend to have a ton of disadvantages when facing the Bills in Buffalo.

However, the weather factor gets thrown out the window for the Bills when another cold-city team comes to Orchard Park late in the season, and that is the case this year when the Bills will host the Chicago Bears on December 19th.

The Bears and Bills will battle it out in a time of the season where they could be looking to lock up their respective division, or just stay in the playoff hunt. Both of them are expected to be in the playoffs, but December football is where the pressure gets turned up a lot.

With that being said, we had the chance to speak with Anthony Miller, who is the Site Expert of Bear Goggles On here at FanSided, and Miller was able to provide some insights about the Bears heading into the 2026 season.

Bears experts gives Bills Mafia valuable insights ahead of 2026

1.) The Bills and Bears made the NFL's first major trade when Chicago traded DJ Moore to Buffalo. How do Bears fans feel about the trade and do they think that their offense will continue to be great without him?

"This is a great trade for the Bears and an absolutely smart move made by general manager Ryan Poles. Moore's numbers have declined over the last two years from his over 1,300-yard year in Chicago back in 2023. The Bears have Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III, both of whom should be in for great 2026 seasons."

"The real question is whether Kalif Raymond, rookie Zavion Thomas, or Jahdae Walker steps up as WR3. Even so, Colston Loveland at tight end, who has been Caleb Williams' favorite target, should help offset any issues at receiver, so the Bears' passing game should be in great shape for years. Plus, the second-round pick the Bears got would not have been offered by anyone else, so fans in Chicago are grateful that the Bills did that for them."

2.) What's an area of weakness that the Bears have that the Bills could attack in their matchup?

"The lack of a pass rush. Montez Sweat got 10 sacks last year and is by far their best pass rusher, and there is still belief that Austin Booker could still be a guy, but Booker and Dayo Odeyingbo haven't done enough to earn the Bears fan base's trust. If the Bears can't pressure Josh Allen, he not only has a chance to create some big plays in the passing game, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he rushes for at least 50 yards in the matchup."

3.) We know who the big-time players are for the Bears, but who is an underrated player that Bills fans should be worried about and why?

"D'Marco Jackson, LB. Jackson came up big for the Bears on defense last year when they had a ton of injuries at linebacker. He made such a good impression that the Bears brought him back on a new contract, and he has a chance to start alongside T.J. Edwards and Devin Bush. Jackson can do it all, from his coverage skills to stopping the run, so he could be a difference-maker, especially if the Bears want to slow down James Cook."

4.) With the Bears coming to Buffalo in December, what do you think will be their offensive approach? Do you think there is a better chance of letting Caleb Williams sling the ball, or will the focus be on the rushing attack?

"The Bears should always put more emphasis on the running game. It should be a good balance between the run and pass, but this was the third-ranked rushing attack in the NFL thanks to a revamped offensive line, as well as D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai running it in the backfield. Buffalo allowed 136.2 rushing yards per game last year, ranking 28th in the NFL, and since they didn't really do much to improve that in the offseason, the Bears should take full advantage of that and run it down their throats."
