The Buffalo Bills continue to win while Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets continue to lose. It's a win-win for Bills fans. Their team is thriving while a Rodgers-led Jets squad is struggling even when we all had to hear about how that franchise was "just a quarterback away". Clearly that wasn't the case.
Rodgers has been incredibly entertaining this season and the Jets struggling so badly makes his comments even funnier. Bills fans look forward to hearing whatever crazy or ridiculous comment is going to come out of Rodgers' mouth each week and this week, he talked about the possibility of getting released by the Jets when the offseason gets underway, which for the Jets, will be in just a few weeks.
Rodgers said, "I've never been released before. Being released would be a first."
More Bills news:
There's a fairly high chance that Rodgers does end up getting released by the Jets at the end of the season. They fired Robert Saleh earlier in the season and whoever takes the Jets head coaching job will likely want to start over with their own quarterback and not a 41-year-old quarterback who likes to run the team himself.
That'd lead to Rodgers becoming a free agent for the first time in his career. Pretty crazy how far this whole thing has fallen for him, right? He went from being the savior for the Jets franchise to now getting released after just two seasons and very few wins. Absolute comedy for Bills fans.
Aaron Rodgers seems to know what's about to happen to him this offseason
The quote didn't end just after those two sentences, though. Rodgers continued to take shots at his team by making a comment on how The Athletic reported that Jets owner Woody Johnson is influenced by his teenage sons' opinions.
"Being released by a teenager would also be a first. I find the comedy in all of it. If that happens, phenomenal. It's a great story."
It would indeed be a great story. This Aaron Rodgers/Jets drama just keeps getting better and it's almost a shame that Bills fans won't have as much invested in Rodgers once he leaves the AFC East this offseason. Hey, maybe the Jets will fall back into the Sam Darnold drama again or better yet, maybe they'll see if Kirk Cousins can be the quarterback that changes the culture for that franchise.
Keep the laughs coming, Jets.
