The regular season has finally come to an end for the Buffalo Bills, and onto the playoffs we go. After losing last week to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Bills bounced back in a nice way with a 35-8 win over the New York Jets. The Bills finish off at 12-5 and will finish as the 6-seed going into the postseason, and will now travel down to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars.

Buffalo dominated from start to finish, despite playing with their backups. Josh Allen came in for one play and then went off the field to let Mitch Trubisky under center for the rest of the game.

As Bills fans are now celebrating, but also accepting the fact that the old Highmark Stadium will never be played in again, we take a look at the winners and just one loser from the Bills’ get-well win against the Jets.

Winners and losers from Bills' regular season finale win

Winners:

RB Ray Davis

It was a career-day for Ray Davis who rushed for 151 yards off of 21 carries. He also added a receiving touchdown against the Jets. Averaging over 7 yards per carry, Davis just showed the NFL that Buffalo doesn’t just have two solid backs, they have three.

Davis has primarily had his success on special teams this season, so it was great to see him shine on offense today.

LB Joe Andreessen

The hometown kid looked amazing on defense today. Joe Andreessen finished second in total tackles for the Bills with seven, including two for a loss and he also recorded a QB hit. Andreessen has overcome the odds that he faced coming into last season and he has been great depth for Buffalo’s linebacker room.

QB Mitch Trubisky

There was only one offensive play that Trubisky didn’t play in this game; the very first one. After that, Trubisky looked like a quality backup QB. He threw for 259 yards and 4 touchdowns against this Jets defense. He may very well have earned yet another contract from the Bills, as he is a pending free agent after this season.

RB Ty Johnson

In addition to Ray Davis, Ty Johnson also had some success running the ball. Against his former team, Johnson had 13 carries for 36 yards and he had multiple touchdowns. It would not surprise me if Johnson was heavily utilized throughout the playoffs for Buffalo.

DT Larry Ogunjobi

Buffalo’s defense was solid (granted they played against backups and third-string players), but nonetheless it was great to see them have a great day. One player that stood out in the trenches was Larry Ogunjobi. He had a couple of nice tackles at and behind the line of scrimmage, and also had the third most total tackles for the Bills.

Losers:

WR Joshua Palmer

The only player who stood out for the wrong reason was wideout Joshua Palmer. Continuing on his inconsistent season, he was targeted 3 times and only had 1 catch for 1 yard. He will need to step it up in the postseason because this kind of performance for the first-year Bill is unacceptable.
