Despite an up-and-down season so far in Buffalo, Bills fans have plenty to be thankful for this holiday season. Here are five things Buffalo fans can be grateful for this Thanksgiving.

Bills have lots of things to be thankful for

1. Josh Allen can still play like a superhero

Bills fans probably wish it would happen more often, but Allen still possesses superhuman abilities and talent. He is capable of putting the team on his back and carrying them to victory when they've asked him to.

We know he's able to do it because we've seen him do it as recently as two weeks ago against Tampa Bay. He also put on his superhero cape against the Ravens in week one and against the reigning AFC Champion Chiefs.

2. James Cook is a top-five running back

It feels like Cook has graduated from "young star" and is now an official star running back, no questions asked. He's been incredible in 2025, already with over 1,000 yards. He's already scored eight touchdowns, including eight on the ground and one in the receiving game, and while he might not finish with 16 rushing touchdowns like he did in 2024, he's still been the driving force behind Buffalo's offense.

3. The Bills already beat the Chiefs....who might miss the playoffs?

Buffalo might not be leading the AFC East, but their biggest rivals in the past five years have not been the Patriots; it's been the Kansas City Chiefs. The good news for Buffalo is they already hold a head-to-head win over the Chiefs, and this year, that matters even more because the Bills (7-4) have a one-game lead over the Chiefs (6-5) for a wild card spot.

There is a real possibility that the Chiefs miss the playoffs (they currently are on the outside looking in), and it could come down the head-to-head tiebreaker with Buffalo.

4. The playoffs will come without pressure

In recent years, Buffalo has entered the playoffs as the Super Bowl favorites, with home field advantage and all sorts of pressure to win. This year, it looks like things might play out differently. Buffalo might not win the AFC East, and if they enter the playoffs as a wild card team, they will be the underdogs.

That might bring out a better version of Josh Allen, one with a chip on his shoulder. It will be interesting to see how a Bills' team playing without the pressure of a top seed and home field advantage will fare in the playoffs.

5. With Allen at QB, the window is always open

Even if this year is not the year Buffalo will win their division, the AFC, or the Super Bowl, Bills fans can be thankful that with Josh Allen at quarterback, their championship window is always open. The Bills have the next decade with Allen under center (as long as they don't let him go), and every one of those years, they will have a chance at the Super Bowl.
