The Buffalo Bills are now dealing with their second loss of the season after losing to the Atlanta Falcons, 24-14. It's not only their second loss, but it's their second primetime loss and now they are looking up to the New England Patriots in the AFC East.
While there was some plays and players to be proud of, the Bills had a lot more disappointments in this matchup.
5 Bills who struggled in their Monday Night Football loss against the Falcons
1. Josh Allen
Josh Allen threw a pair of interceptions. While he did toss two touchdown passes as well, he only threw for 180 yards, and the offense struggled should probably be blamed mostly on the quarterback. He was decent on the ground, with 42 rushing yards, but still was not all that impressive against the Falcons.
2. Khalil Shakir
Shakir caught just three passes for 33 yards. It was an underwhelming performance for the Bills' top wideout, who has been having a slow start to the 2025 season so far. The Bills needed the entire offense to be in lockstep against a solid Falcons team, and that did not happen.
3. Keon Coleman
Speaking of wide receivers who did not do much against the Falcons, Keon Coleman did not show up at all. He caught three passes for just 11 yards, and was not the support system that Josh Allen needed. Allen needed his receivers to get open quickly against a difficult Falcons pass rush, but they collectively struggled to do that.
4. Dawson Knox
With Dalton Kincaid out, the Bills needed Dawson Knox to step it up and be a strong factor in the passing game. While Knox did catch a 19-yard touchdown pass, that was the only reception he hauled in all game. Again, this was not helpful for Josh Allen, who could have used Knox on checkdown plays when he was being pressured by the Bills.
5. Joey Bosa
Bosa did wind up with four assisted tackles, but he finished the game with just one tackle, and no sacks. The Bills pass rush in general needed to put more pressure on Michael Penix Jr., and Bosa could have been the one to get to him. Instead, he was a bit of a no-show, and it hurt the Bills defense. Buffalo needs more from it's veteran pass rusher.
