The Buffalo Bills are officially 2-0 after they walked into MetLife Stadium and completely destroyed the New York Jets, winning 30-10. With this win, the Bills are in control of the division even more and they have caused the Jets to have more questions than answers moving forward.
With moving to 2-0 the Bills only have a limited to celebrate because they have a short week ahead of them as they will welcome the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 3. However, there was a lot of positivity to take away from this game, including seeing some great performances.
4 winners and 1 loser from Bills AFC East beatdown of Jets
Winners:
DE Joey Bosa
This game shows the reason why the Bills gave Joey Bosa a $12.6 million deal. To be a closer and to create tons of pressure. While he didn’t need to close out the game, he was in the backfield a ton. He finished his day with two total tackles that included a sack, a tackle for loss, and two QB hits. It was a great game from Bosa overall.
RB James Cook
After Josh Allen was the star last week, it was James Cook’s turn as he played a major role in Buffalo’s beatdown win. On 21 carries, Cook rushed for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns which included a 44-yard rushing yard score in the second quarter.
He proved that he was worth paying and now the Bills should be thankful that they have him for the long haul.
K Matt Prater
Matt Prater came up big once again for the Bills. Not because he needed to, but because his accuracy has proven that as long as Buffalo gets into field goal range, he should be automatic. He was perfect in field goal attempts, including one from 52 yards, as well as 3/3 on PATs.
DC Bobby Babich
After getting embarrassed by the Ravens last week, the Bills defense led by Bobby Babich had themselves a great bounce back performance. They limited Justin Fields and Breece Hall from doing anything. Overall, the defense responded well to the criticism and with that, Babich deserves some credit.
Loser
WR Khalil Shakir
In a big surprise, Khalil Shakir only got two targets and had one catch for just 12 yards. He wasn’t needed as much in this win, but for being Josh Allen’s go-to guy, this was a disappointing week for Shakir.
