Finally, a 1PM game in Orchard Park is taking place for the Buffalo Bills this Sunday. After being on the road for the last three weeks (two games being in primetime), the Bills will welcome the Tennessee Titans who have dug themselves in a big hole and are looking to pull of an upset in Buffalo.
Tennessee might actually be one of the better one-win teams in the league, they just haven’t been able to close out any games. The last time these two teams met, the Bills crushed the Titans on Monday Night Football in Week 2 of 2022, winning 41-7. However, things look a lot different now than they did before, and not necessarily the best for the Titans.
Derrick Henry is no longer there, and they under a new head coach in Brian Callahan who has yet to help elevate this Tennessee offense. At the same time, the Bills cannot afford to take the Titans lightly.
There are four Titans players that Bills Mafia have to keep an eye on this Sunday. With this being a little bit of a trap game, it will be important for the Bills to get off to a fast start and not let it come down to the wire.
Looking at the 4 Titans that Bills fans need to keep an eye on
WR DeAndre Hopkins
Remember when the Arizona Cardinals released DeAndre Hopkins and it seemed like places like Buffalo and Kansas City were the right fit for Hopkins? Well, out of all places, Hopkins elected to go to the Titans. It also helps that the Titans gave him a two-year, $26 million deal.
The last time the Bills faced off against Hopkins, it was in 2020 when Hopkins caught the infamous “Hail Murray” pass over Micah Hyde, Tre’Davious White, and Jordan Poyer to secure a Cardinals win over the Bills. Let’s hope that it doesn’t happen again this Sunday.
Either way, Hopkins can still be a possession receiving threat against a Buffalo defense that plays a lot of zone coverage. If Will Levis can connect with Hopkins early on, it could cause the Buffalo secondary some trouble.
OLB Harold Landry
The Titans have one of the most underrated pass rushers in the league with Harold Landry. He is a name that not everyone knows about, but Bills fans should. Landry leads the Titans with four sacks and can swat passes down from the line of scrimmage. Whether he lines up against Spencer Brown or Dion Dawkins, he is someone that can make a game-changing play for the Titans.
QB Will Levis
That’s right, Tennessee’s struggling second-year quarterback is on the list. Why? It’s due to the fact that the Bills will sometimes have a tendency to allow below-average players to shine against them. It goes without saying that Will Levis has struggled through five games.
Levis has only passed for 699 yards and thrown for 5 touchdowns as well 7 bad interceptions. It’s been a rough start for Levis, who has been criticized by his own head coach about the mistakes he has made.
It will be important for the Bills to keep putting continuous pressure on Levis and now allow him to get any kind of momentum going. We also know that coming off a big Monday night win and trading for wideout Amari Cooper, the Bills are going to need to keep their concentration and not lt Levis spoil that great feeling that they have had this week.
DL Jeffery Simmons
You can’t mention a TItans player to worry about and not mention Jeffery Simmons. Ever since being drafted, Simmons has been wrecking havoc for the Titans for many years. He has been off to a little bit of a slow start, but don’t think that he won’t be looking to turn things around this Sunday.
Whether he plays off the edge or inside the defensive line, Buffalo’s offensive line has to respect him at all times and find a way to keep him away from the ball.
