We are two sleeps away from the game of the weekend between the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens. Bills fans just need to get through the next two days and three games before they see the Bills take the field in hopes of getting back to the AFC championship game.
The Bills are getting another shot at the Ravens, who demolished them back in Week 4 when they literally ran all over the Bills. Now, the Ravens are coming to Orchard Park. Buffalo hasn’t lost at home this season, but the Ravens are by far their toughest opponent that they will host.
As Bills Mafia prepares for a weekend that they hope ends with a trip to the conference championship, it’s important to look at the factors heading into this game. Whether it’s the injury report or the weather, fans are going to make their bold predictions going into Sunday night. With that, we take a look at some predictions that we have here going into this AFC showdown.
Bills rush for less than 100 total yards
The Ravens’ run-defense has been one of the best recently. Since their Week 14 bye week, the Ravens have only allowed 100+ rushing yards once, and on average are only giving up 63 yards per game. That is bad news for James Cook and the rushing attack. However, this will give Joe Brady a chance to flip the usual setup and establish the passing game before running the ball.
Buffalo’s defense holds Derrick Henry under 100 rushing yards
On the opposite side, Derrick Henry has struggled when he plays in Buffalo. In two career games in Orchard Park, Henry has only rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown. At home against the Bills, he averages 119 yards per game as well as two touchdowns on the ground.
Henry had his fun against the Bills in the regular season, rushing for 199 yards which included an opening 87-yard touchdown run on Baltimore’s first play. Now it’s time to experience the opposite of that. Buffalo has to be on the lookout to completely limit Henry and the rushing attack.
Josh Allen throws for 300+ yards and 3 touchdowns
It definitely wasn’t a pretty game by any means for Josh Allen in their first matchup. He faced continuous pressure and lost his go-to receiver in Khalil Shakir ealy on in the game. Allen completed only 55% of his throws, had no touchdowns and had a fumble. However, the Ravens should be familiar with Allen in the playoffs…
Baltimore and Buffalo faced off in the 2021 playoffs where the Bills came out with a 17-3 win. Allen threw for over 200 yards and had a touchdown as well. This feels like a great breakout game for playoff Josh Allen. In his playoff career, Allen has completed 65% of his passes for 2,995 yards, and 28 total touchdowns to just six turnovers.
Look for the Bills to go with a pass-heavy offense and Allen lights it up against a Ravens secondary that is shaky at best.
Whoever has the ball last will win
Did you think I would put down a Bills win to end it? Unfortunately, this could be a great or bad thing for the Bills. We can’t deny the threat the Ravens are to the Bills, but Baltimore hasn’t taken on playoff Buffalo in a long time.
This game is going to come down to the wire and it could very well be whoever has the ball last will win it all. In order to avoid this, the Bills have to get out to a quick lead and make Lamar Jackson play from behind.
