The 2026 season is one step closer as each team’s schedule is officially released. The Buffalo Bills dropped their schedule and now fans will see when they play against certain opponents. We have gone through the first major wave of free agency, the NFL Draft, and now the schedule is here. Before you know it, training camp will be here.
There’s no doubt that new head coach Joe Brady and the Bills were given a tough schedule. The pressure was already there, but now the schedule shows us that the Bills have very little room to make mistakes. They ultimately took a step back in 2025, which led to the firing of Sean McDermott. Now, Brady will be tasked to get further than McDermott ever did.
Even though the Bills don’t have an easy schedule at all, they were given some dream scenarios that fans may not be aware of. Well, we have you covered with four specific scenarios that fans should be excited about.
Bills should be excited for 4 various setups in 2026
4.) Bills get early matchup against Patriots
In Week 4, the Bills will be hosting the New England Patriots for a classic 1pm AFC East battle in Orchard Park. The Patriots dethroned the Bills last season and took back the division. Bills fans are hoping that it was just a one-time thing as they will be looking for Buffalo to reclaim the division.
This is a great chance for the Bills to set the tone against the Patriots and let them know that the division runs through Buffalo, no matter what happened last season. An early season test for the Bills will show us who they are within the division, and they get the Patriots as part of a three-game home stretch early in the season.
3.) Bills have massive advantage in matchups vs. Dolphins
Buffalo and Miami won’t see each other until Week 11, which is in late November and the weather is going to start to get cold in Buffalo. The Dolphins will be coming to Orchard Park that day, and then they will be hosting the Bills in Week 17 which is in January. So, the Bills get the chance play against Miami in cold weather and get to avoid the scorching heat in south Florida. This is a big win for the Bills.
2.) Bills draw Chiefs matchup in primetime
On Thanksgiving night at 8:20pm, the Bills will be hosting Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. This was quite the shock considering that these teams usually meet in October/November on CBS. Instead, they will be on NBC in late November as part of the next chapter of their rivalry.
Mahomes should be back on the field well before this matchup takes place, and the whole world knows that a Josh Allen vs. Patrick Mahomes' battle is a must-see.
1.) Bills get early home field advantage
The Bills were not given a great start to the season at all as they will be heading down to Houston for a Week 1 battle against the Texans. After that though, they will be home for the following three games against the Lions, Chargers, and Patriots.
Buffalo will be opening up their new stadium in Week 2 against the Lions on Thursday Night Football, and then will have back-to-back 1pm games against the Chargers and Patriots. The Bills have to take advantage of being at home during this period.
