As Thanksgiving has approached, the Bills can give thanks for these four plays that went their way in 2025, and helped them win some close games, even if they didn't deserve to win them.
Plays that Bills fans should be happy that have gone in Buffalo's favor
Week 1: Vs Baltimore: 4th quarter, 3:56 remaining. 4th-and-2. 40-25 Baltimore.
The Bills were down by 15 points and facing fourth-and-two from the ten-yard line. Needing a first-down to keep the drive alive, and their hopes of defeating the Ravens alive, Josh Allen and the Bills found the magic they needed. Allen connected with Keon Coleman for a touchdown that brought the Bills within eight points, in a game they would eventually win by one point.
Week 3: Vs Miami: 4th quarter, 12:18 remaining. 4th-and-7, 21-21
The Bills and Dolphins were tied in 21-21 deadlock, and the Dolphins' defense thought they had the Bills backed into a corner after stopping them on 3rd-and-7. With Buffalo ready to punt, Dolphins defensive tackle Zach Sieler committed a roughing the punter penalty that extended the drive. Buffalo went on to score a touchdown on that drive and would eventually win the game 31-21.
Week 9: Vs Kansas City: 4th quarter, 4:27 remaining. 3rd-and-11, 28-21 Buffalo
The Bills led the Chiefs 28-21, but Kansas City had the ball late in the game with a chance to tie the game. The Bills' defense stepped up and made what might be the play of the year in Buffalo. On a crucial third down, Maxwell Hairston picked off Patrick Mahomes, giving Buffalo the ball back with the lead.
The Bills were able to run the clock down below two minutes before punting it back to Kansas City, and were able to get one last stop to secure the victory. If not for Hairston's heroic play, we would never have known if Mahomes would have willed the Chiefs to the win.
Week 11 vs Tampa Bay: 4th quarter, 13:38 remaining. 3rd-and-11, 32-31 Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay was leading Buffalo in the fourth quarter and was one play away from forcing Buffalo to punt. Instead, Josh Allen did what Josh Allen does. He found Curtis Samuel for 14 yards, converting the crucial third down to extend the drive. Buffalo went on to score a touchdown and take the lead, then score again on their next drive to win 44-32.
