As the regular season winds down, the Buffalo Bills travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams at 4:25 PM EST. The Bills will do it with the hopes of getting a few players back from injury, including rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman and second year tight end Dalton Kincaid. Buffalo has been dominant ever since the loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and with the Detroit Lions being the only real threat left on the schedule, Buffalo should be in pretty good shape come playoff time. Without getting too much ahead of ourselves, let’s take a look at three Rams players Bills fans don’t need to worry about this week.
Tight end Colby Parkinson
Going from Tyler Higbee to Colby Parkinson has been quite the shock for the Rams, who’s totaled 256 yards and one touchdown on the season. The Rams offense has been at its best with a reliable tight end for Matthew Stafford, and neither Parkinson nor Davis Allen have been able to step into that role as Higbee rehabs a knee injury. The Bills have played fairly well against tight ends this season, most recently holding George Kittle to one reception for seven yards, and Travis Kelce to two receptions for eight yards.
Cornerback Cobie Durant
The Bills passing offense has arguably been the best we’ve seen in this era, and we could possibly be seeing Keon Coleman return to the field. If so, it’s going to be difficult to contain this new-look offense, which through recent weeks has seen an uptick in production. The Rams passing defense ranks 15th in passing defense, according to Fox Sports, and has a tough task guarding Amari Cooper, Khalil Shakir, and (possibly) Keon Coleman. Rams’ cornerback Cobie Durant has allowed 380 yards, 12.7 yards per reception, and one touchdown on 30 receptions, per PlayerProfiler. This week should be a long matchup for Durant and the Rams’ secondary.
Running back Kyren Williams
The Bills, outside of the 49ers game, have been able to contain opposing running backs this year. Getting Matt Milano back, along with DeWayne Carter soon, the run defense should be in even better shape moving forward as well. Despite rushing for 926 yards on the season, Kyren Williams has been very inconsistent. Williams has rushed for over 100 yards in only two games this season and has an average of 4.2 yards per carry. The Bills run defense, led by Greg Rousseau, Terrel Bernard, and DaQuan Jones, who have combined for 23 tackles for loss, will be able to contain the Rams ground game.
