The 2025 Buffalo Bills have finished their final preseason game of the year, and for many players, it could be their last time for the Bills. For some, they could find themselves on a practice squad or in another league. For others, this game decided whether or not they’ll start in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.
As this game will decide the fate of a good portion of the roster, final cutdowns will be made on Tuesday's 4:00 PM deadline. Roster battles, such as the secondary group, will be decided by yesterday's game, which could mean the end of the line for some surprising players. Let's take a look at several players who could be released this week.
Bills players who could be released ahead of 2025 season
Linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio
Last year's fifth-round pick, Edefuan Ulofoshio has had a rough start to his career, getting just limited action last season. As for this summer, it hasn’t been much better. Ulofoshio has been low on the depth chart, even behind new linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo, whom they signed from the New York Jets right before the preseason had begun.
Now, the Bills could decide to keep some other guys, such as Joe Andreessen on the active roster and Ciarlo on the practice squad, over Ulofoshio. The Bills could put him on the practice squad for the year, but this summer specifically has been very telling about his future in Buffalo.
Safety Darrick Forrest
As the Bills reshaped their safety room this past offseason, adding Darrick Forrest was a part of that upgrade. The former fifth-round pick of the Washington Commanders came over after a successful career with Washington, totaling four interceptions, nine passes defended, and 137 tackles in his four seasons. Now this summer, Forrest has been trying to climb above Damar Hamlin and Cam Lewis on the depth chart, and has been unsuccessful at it.
Cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram
This may be the most difficult cut the Bills make this week. Ingram has been with the Bills for three seasons, becoming a big part of the Bills secondary, and someone the coaching staff can rely on to come in off of the bench.
Unfortunately for him, the Bills added four cornerbacks this offseason in veterans Tre White and Dane Jackson, along with rookies Maxwell Hairston and Dorian Strong. Strong has the edge with being drafted and needing time to develop. Ingram could likely land on the practice squad. Buffalo seems to trust Strong a little bit more than Ingram, meaning he can make a case to start Week 1 next to Christian Benford if Tre White can't go.
