The Buffalo Bills are preparing for two games on the road after spending close to a month at home. The first stop: Los Angeles to take on the Rams. The last time the Bills faced off against the Rams was the season opener in 2022, after the Rams came off a Super Bowl victory the year prior. That game was less than ideal for Los Angeles as they ran into a very good Bills team that shut down the party.
You have to imagine that the Rams didn't forget about that day. This season, the Rams have been pretty up and down for the most part. Fortunately for them, the NFC West is seemingly up for grabs with all 4 teams being within a couple games of each other. So, even though the Rams seem like an average to below average team, they should come out swinging against these Bills if they have a shot of winning their division.
In spite of the nature of this game for the Rams, even though Buffalo has clinched a playoff spot, the Bills are not going to sleepwalk through this contest. Here are 3 bold predictions:
1. Josh Allen passes for a season high in yards
This Rams team has an excellent pass rush up front. With some young pieces in Jared Verse, Kobie Turner, and Braden Fiske, they can cause havoc for any quarterback. Unfortunately for them, they are going against Josh Allen and the Bills offensive line, who have not allowed many sacks this year. Along with that, the Bills could potentially welcome back Dalton Kincaid and Keon Coleman.
With Allen's elusive nature, a weaker secondary, as well as potentially getting back two of his top targets, this could be a recipe for success. Also, they are playing in a dome, which Allen has done very well in domed stadiums (as well as most other quarterbacks). Currently, Allen's season high in a game is in Week 7 against the Titans (323), which is the only 300 yard game he has had this year.
2. Greg Rousseau registers 2+ sacks
Rousseau has had a pretty phenomenal year. His sack production isn't very high (6.5 sacks) but he has gotten consistent pressure on the quarterback. With a game like this where they are facing an older quarterback in Matthew Stafford, Rousseau and the rest of the defensive line should be able to feast. Not only is Stafford not very mobile, but also the Rams' offensive line isn't stellar either, having to rely on younger players who haven't quite gelled.
3. A receiver will catch 2+ touchdowns
This is probably the boldest given the Bills have an "everybody eats" mantra. The receiver who has caught the most touchdowns is Mack Hollins with 4. So despite this, and with the prediction that Allen could throw for the most yards in a game this season, chances are Allen could find the same one twice in the end zone. This also goes back to the Rams having one of the poorer secondaries in the NFL. This could be opening day 2022 all over again for Allen and the Bills.
