Tomorrow night is when we will get to see the Buffalo Bills take the field against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football for their season opener. Let’s go!

After all of the free agency moves, the NFL Draft, training camp, and preseason, it’s go time in the NFL. The Bills are tasked with a tough challenge right off the bat with the Ravens, but atleast it’s at home. This was the matchup that we last saw in Highmark Stadium last season when the Bills eliminated the Ravens from the playoffs. Now, Baltimore will be seeking revenge.

There are three Bills players that have a lot to lose, for various reasons and fans should be watching them closely from the first play to the last whistle.

3 Bills who have to have big games vs. Ravens in Week 1

WR Keon Coleman

The second-year wide receiver from Florida State is coming off a strong start to his career, but it was interrupted by a wrist injury suffered in the middle of last season. Keon Coleman had 556 yards and 4 touchdowns last season, which isn’t bad at all. Not super impressive, but not bad.

Coleman has had a strong summer to the point where Bills’ left tackle Dion Dawkins told the media “Keon is not the same player as last year. The league better get ready” per Sal Capaccio.

However, we all know that Coleman has to go out and prove it and it starts in Week 1. Facing a tough Ravens secondary, Coleman will be tested right away. If he doesn’t make an impact, it’ll be noticed and he could face a lot of criticism about the lack of production against a team that the Bills could very well see in the playoffs.

S Cole Bishop

Sticking with second year players, Cole Bishop was drafted by the Bills in the second round in 2024 to fill the shoes that were left by Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer. In training camp, both last year and this summer, Bishop has fell behind a bit due to injury and he’s had some inconsistency in his play.

He’s expected to be a starter this season with Taylor Rapp and there is no better first test for him than the Ravens. Bishop will either step up to the plate, or continue to have the Bills question whether they have the right safeties or not.

OL Connor McGovern

Since arriving in Buffalo, Connor McGovern has played a crucial part in protecting Josh Allen. He switched from guard to center and he exceeded expectations. Now entering a contract year, McGovern will have to prove that he is worthy of being given a long-term deal.

The Bills extended a lot of players this past season, including James Cook, Khalil Shakir, Greg Rousseua, and many more. It might be tough for McGovern to get a contract extension and if he starts off on a bad note against Baltimore, that could be taken into consideration.
