The decision to move on from longtime head coach Sean McDermott in favor of Joe Brady has paid off early on for the Buffalo Bills. They are 5-1 and have one of the best offenses in the NFL.
However, the playoffs aren't good enough for the Bills at this point. They make the playoffs every year. It's Super Bowl or bust for the team as long as Josh Allen is still in his prime. While the early season has been promising, the Bills keep having to win close games.
With the team in the midst of their bye week, this could be the best time to make a couple of additions. There aren't many great free agent options left this late in the season, but there are a few players who might be able to make an impact.
Free agent options Bills must consider at some point this season
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill has recently resolved a lingering legal matter, and it's possible that the NFL could be suspending him. While there are real character concerns about Hill, there will be a team out there that signs him.
According to a report from Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer on the Dan Patrick Show, the Bills could be one of the teams in the mix for Hill.
"If I had to guess, right now, I'd say Kansas City or Buffalo," Breer said. "I think he's motivated to continue his career. Now I don't know what percentage of him we're getting, because it's not just coming back from the injuries - and the injury is a really difficult one to come back from. And it's also his age, and your ability to recuperate at that age." Breer added.

It's fair to question how effective Hill can still be considering his age (32), and he's coming off of a massive injury. At the same time, DJ Moore is the only consistent wide receiver that the Bills have, and he's banged up. Signing Hill would also keep him away from the Chiefs. Just that fact alone could make it worth it to sign the former All-Pro.
Marshon Lattimore
The Bills' passing defense has been abysmal this season. 38-year-old Kirk Cousins just diced them for 313 yards and two touchdowns. The 285.8 yards per game they're allowing through the air is the second-worst in the NFL.
Good cornerbacks are already very difficult to find, so finding one at this point of the season could be impossible. That said, Marshon Lattimore might be worth taking a chance on. He hasn't been a consistent player in years and has dealt with some serious injuries. The Washington Commanders traded for him two years ago, and almost immediately regretted it.
Though he's no longer an All-Pro player, he was one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL for a time. He'd be very cheap, and if he can be even a fraction of the player he once was, he'd be an upgrade for the Bills.
Matt Milano
With the defense reeling, the Bills could call up a familiar face. Linebacker Matt Milano spent nine years in Buffalo, but the team decided against bringing him back this offseason. Linebacker continues to be an issue, so it couldn't hurt to bring back the former All-Pro.
He'd also be an excellent leader to bring back to the defense. He's not the same player he was five years ago, but he's a solid veteran. At the very least, he could provide depth and leadership to a struggling defense.
