Even though no rookie from this past draft class has taken a snap in the NFL, there are already early 2027 mock drafts coming out which is completely normal for football fans to see. While the focus will be on what these incoming rookies will bring, it’s never too early to take a look at what rookies could be coming out of college next year.

The Buffalo Bills had just seven picks going into last week’s draft, but ended up making ten selections after multiple trade-downs. Buffalo took care of many needs that they had to address and fans should be feeling much better about how the roster could turn out.

They even took care of positions like safety and cornerback, which were positions that didn’t have a major need but could eventually turn into so the Bills got ahead of the curve. Early in the 4th round, Buffalo drafted Boston College offensive lineman Jude Bowry who was primarily a tackle in college but has the ability to be pushed inside to guard.

Even with that potential, the Bills could still have a hole to fill on the inside of their offensive line. O’Cyrus Torrence, Alec Anderson, and Austin Corbett are all on one-year deals. Right now, the penciled-in starters should be Torrence and Anderson at the guard spots, but who knows if there is a long-term future for either one of them. If not, the Bills will have to do some scouting to see who could be replacements.

Bills address interior OL in very early 2027 mock draft

Brent Sobleski from Bleacher Report put together a way-too-early 2027 NFL mock draft at pick No. 31, Sobleski has the Bills selecting offensive lineman Cayden Green out of Missouri.

"O'Cyrus Torrence is about to enter a contract year, and the Buffalo Bills have question marks about who is their other starting guard heading into this season. While Lloyd Cushenberry III and Austin Corbett were signed in free agency, both inked one-year deals. Also, fourth-round pick Jude Bowry will have to switch positions if he's going to take over at left guard. The 6'5", 324-pound Green needs to be on Buffalo's radar, as he projects to be one of the top guards in next year's draft class despite converting to left tackle last season." said Sobleski.

The last time the Bills drafted an offensive lineman in the first round of the draft was back in 2002 where they drafted Mike Williams out of Texas, and that pick did not work out at all. It's been quite sometime since Buffalo went this route in the draft. However, if the Bills don’t bring back Torrence, Anderson, and/or Corbett, there could be a high chance of Buffalo spending a first round pick on interior protection for Josh Allen.
