That’s right, we are already talking about the 2026 NFL Draft (but not as much with the 2025 season coming up here soon). Even though the main focus is on what this current Bills roster can do in 2025, Brandon Beane and his staff will also have to be on the lookout for college prospects who could be entering the draft next year.
You would think that with the revamp of the defense that the Bills did this past offseason, they might go more on the offense next offseason (which could happen) but fans shouldn’t be surprised to see the Bills addressing the linebacker position.
Matt Milano has been with the Bills since 2017 and has been one of best draft picks under Sean McDermott. A fifth-round pick out of Boston College, Milano has been the heart and soul of the defense for a long time. Sadly, he’s faced a ton of injuries including two major ones since 2023.
The Bills and Milano agreed to a contract restructure where Milano can earn back some money through incentives, but he is now entering a contract year in 2025. Unless he has an All-Pro season, the 2025 season could very well be his last season in Buffalo.
If Milano is indeed let go after 2025, the Bills will need to replace him (or atleast bring in competition for Dorian Williams) and there is one college prospect that the Bills and fans should be keeping an eye on this coming college football season.
Bills need to keep an eye on BYU LB Isaiah Glasker
Damian Parson from Bleacher Report recently listed Glasker as a 2026 NFL prospect that could break out in the 2025 season, and he would be a great fit for Buffalo as a replacement for Matt Milano.
"He is more than a downhill thumper. Glasker provides NFL defenses with three-down potential. He is effective at dropping to his spots in zone coverages, and his instincts usually place him around the football."Damian Parson, Bleacher Report
Glasker is a fantastic athlete who has great anticipation on where the ball is going. Last year, he had 15 tackles for a loss that included 42 solo tackles. He can also play zone coverage making him a versatile player who can be a bit of a ballhawk.
He’s an explosive linebacker who, if drafted to the right situation, will have a great NFL career. If the Bills were to draft him, they would be able to get a player who could be even more dynamic than Milano was and he would get the chance to learn from Terrel Bernard who has become one of the better young linebackers in the league.
