Terrel Bernard
The middle linebacker position on the surface looked like it would be a priority for the Buffalo Bills with Tremaine Edmunds leaving in free agency and there not being a clear replacement. It seemed like the Bills found their answer with Dorian Williams, who they drafted in the third round.
However after the third round, Brandon Beane tempered expectations for Williams and said he would begin his career as an outside linebacker, according to Joe Buscaglia with The Athletic. If Williams is not going to factor into the competition then the player who benefits the most would be Terrel Bernard.
Bernard was a third round pick by the Buffalo Bills last year and the reason he benefits the most is that he probably needs the most practice reps at the position as he is the least experienced behind A.J. Klein and Tyrel Dodson. He has the most ground to make up among the other linebackers and will benefit from any additional reps he gets with the starters.
Bernard has the highest ceiling of the three and the best chance to be a long-term answer but the question is can he gain the coaching staff’s confidence to be the starter?
