Buffalo Bills 2023 NFL Draft Target: Calijah Kancey

One player who has skyrocketed up draft boards over the past few months has been Calijah Kancey out of the University of Pittsburgh. In the past two seasons with the Panthers, Kancey has had 15.5 sacks and 27.5 tackles for a loss.

Shortly after the NFL Combine, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah tweeted out the testing results for Kancey and Oliver and they are almost identical. However, the players are not the same in terms of their style of play.

Steve Palazzolo of Pro Football Focus does a good job highlighting this with the grades of both players coming out of college. Ed Oliver coming out of college was much better against the run while Kancey is the superior pass rusher.

The addition of Calijah Kancey would certainly help the Buffalo Bills pass rush and he would be a great addition to the interior of the defensive line. However, the Bills may be hesitant to make that move because it would likely require a trade up in the first round and they may want to address more pressing needs.
