Veteran trade fits for the Buffalo Bills: Dalvin Cook, RB

For a while now, trade rumors have been ongoing in regards to Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook. If he were to be moved, what better team than the Bills, where he’d unite with his brother, James Cook?

It sure doesn’t sound like Minnesota is sold on Cook sticking around, as of just recently. General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah had this to say about the situation:

“Conversations are always ongoing with him, we’re trying to be solutions-oriented always, trying to put the roster together within our constraints.”

Should Cook be traded, Buffalo likely wouldn’t have to pay more than a third-round pick, if that, based on Cook’s contract. If Minnesota cut ties, they would already be saving $6 million right off the bat. Next year, Cook could be cut for a savings of $12 million.

Over the last four seasons, Cook has topped 1,000 rushing yards and made the Pro Bowl each year. He’s also tallied 43 rushing touchdowns and added three through the air. If Cook came to Buffalo, it would likely be Damien Harris to take a back seat, while the brothers went to work on a weekly basis.
