Kaiir Elam (2022 NFL Draft)

The last first round pick the Buffalo Bills made was in last year’s NFL Draft with the selection of cornerback Kaiir Elam out of the University of Florida. The Bills actually traded up to select Elam as he was the last player the team had a first round grade on that year.

Elam’s rookie season was up and down, which can be expected for a rookie. He would make some great plays, like the interception against the Miami Dolphins in the Wild Card Round, that should give the coaching staff confidence that he can develop into a key part of this secondary.

It is tough to give a grade for a player right after only one season so this is a grade that has the potential to significantly change by what Elam can do over the next few years. For now, when considering the expectations of a rookie, this grade makes sense.
