Buffalo Bills Rumors: 3 new trades to land Bucs WR Mike Evans

Over the past 24 hours, things have gotten interesting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as their young linebacker, Devin White, requested a trade. While the Buffalo Bills shouldn’t go in on a deal for White, maybe they could take advantage of a possible rebuild.

Tampa Bay doesn’t want to trade White, obviously, but with the way their offseason has gone, one has to wonder if there is a rebuild on the horizon. After all, they’ve gotten rid of some veterans like Donovan Smith and Lavonte David, to name a few.

Could the Bucs be looking at a full-on rebuild as they move into life without Tom Brady? If so, a popular trade candidate, somehow always in rumors, is star wideout Mike Evans.

Recently, we discussed some potential deals the Bucs and Bills could make involving Evans. Some of those deals included other positions, like defensive end A.J. Epenesa. Now, we look at a few more, solely focused on the receiver position.

Trade Number 1: The Bills keep it simple, swapping wide receivers with the Bucs

In one of the first deals I proposed a week or so ago, the Bucs would get Gabe Davis and a sixth rounder in exchange for Evans and a fifth-round pick. Here, it’s kept fairly simple.

The Bills get Evans, who comes with one year remaining on his deal for a cap hit of over $23 million. The Bucs get Davis, who has one more year on his rookie deal. This is essentially a one-year rental for the Bills, who pair Evans with Stefon Diggs, giving Josh Allen a lethal duo at wide receiver.

For the Bucs, they get a chance to see if Davis could be a long-term fit. The 24-year-old has yet to fully grasp his potential in Buffalo, but a fresh start on the last year of his rookie contract could help provide the necessary motivation for the former fourth-round pick to finally take off.
