Buffalo Bills: Pros and cons of a potential trade for Devin White
Pro: Devin White makes more impact plays than Tremaine Edmunds
One of the biggest criticisms of Tremaine Edmunds over the years has been the lack of “impact plays” or game-altering plays like sacks, interceptions, and fumbles.
Devin White has been much better at rushing the passer with 20.5 sacks in four seasons compared to Edmunds who had 6.5 in five seasons. One of the reasons for this could be due to Devin White having more opportunities to rush the passer with 364 blitzes compared to Tremaine Edmunds’ 245 blitzes.
The Bills have not been a team that blitzes very often but that could change under Sean McDermott who was much more aggressive as defensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers than what the defense has shown with him head coach of the Buffalo Bills.
A bigger discrepancy when comparing the two players has to be fumbles as Edmunds only has two forced fumbles in his career and no fumble recoveries while Devin White has six forced fumbles and nine fumble recoveries. The addition of Devin White would certainly be an improvement in this one area of the defense.
