Buffalo Bills Big Board for 1st Round of 2023 NFL Draft, Number 1: O’Cyrus Torrence, G, Florida
Number 1 on the big board, and probably the most realistic pick for Buffalo, is Florida guard O’Cyrus Torrence.
The 6-foot-5, 330-pound mammoth is arguably the second-best interior lineman in the draft class next to Skoronski (who, again, projects best at guard). He comes in as a fairly well-rounded lineman with plenty of power and athleticism. Scouts project him best in a downhill offense that runs often, and the Bills certainly fit that mold on most Sundays.
Buffalo could use a starting guard, at the moment, with Ryan Bates not necessarily locking down the position last year. The Bills’ offensive line was not excellent, as a whole, as a matter of fact. But, signing Connor McGovern should help that cause. Adding Torrence should fortify the interior even more, hopefully disallowing additional, unnecessary hits on Josh Allen going forward.
If you know nothing else about Torrence, just know that he put up some strong film against Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter, who is widely-regarded as the draft’s best defensive lineman and one of the better prospects we’ve seen in the last few years.
