Trade Number 3: The Buffalo Bills make a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles
Finally, the Bills could move up fairly high, looking for the perfect compliment to Stefon Diggs. Some draft evaluators have a guy like Quentin Johnston as their top receiver in the class, still, and that’s who the Bills will be eyeing.
The Trade
This is a highly-risky trade, seeing the Bills give up a third rounder this year, along with a first and fourth-round pick next year.
The Pick
The pick is, indeed, Johnston.
The towering wide receiver stands 6-foot-3 and has enormous size. This is by far and away the best Gabe Davis replacement the Bills could find in the draft class. He’s someone that takes long strides, almost looking like he’s gliding down the field while blazing past defenders.
The size and speed combination is something teams will covet when watching his film. It’s easy to see why he averaged a whopping 19.0 yards per catch over his entire college career.
Johnston comes in as a polarizing prospect, mainly because of some mental lapses. He has the physical prowess to be a dominant wide receiver, but just a few times has seen himself not come down with some catches he should have been able to grab.
Still, the film he puts out there is tremendous, and his ceiling is sky high. For that reason, many teams could have him as the clear WR1 on their board. If the Bills were able to land Johnston, and pair him with Diggs, this offense would become lethal in a hurry.
