The Bills are definitely in on Odell Beckham Jr

While Brandon Beane did seem to downplay the possibility of trading for Hopkins, he did nothing to quiet the Odell Beckham Jr. rumors.

Beckham, who has long been connected to the Buffalo Bills created a stir on Tuesday when he arrived at the Biltmore along with his agent Zeke Sandhu. While he did not sign a deal, he obviously had the opportunity to meet with a number of teams who are likely interested in his services, as he is now over full year removed from the ACL injury that he suffered in the Super Bowl in 2022.

Beckham, beyond being a great fit for the Bills by adding another dynamic to their offense, has connections with several Bills players which could provide pivotal in recruiting him to Buffalo. Von Miller openly recruited Beckham last season, and newly signed Bills David Edwards and Taylor Rapp both won a Super Bowl with Beckham in LA.

One dynamic that actually increases the likelihood of the Bills being in on Beckham is the timing. This late in free agency, Beckham seems likely to wait until after the 2023 NFL Draft to sign. Given Beane’s desire to not add any free agents who would impact the Bills 2024 compensatory pick [LINK], Beckham’s timeline seems to line up well with the Bills.

If they wait until June, his signing would not count toward the compensatory pick formula and it would just be a matter of working out the finances for 2023. Look for Beckham to remain a free agent for now, and the Bills-Beckham rumors to increase following the draft.
