Earlier on Friday morning, a new report surfaced in regards to the Buffalo Bills and their plans for the 2023 NFL Draft.
For the fans wanting the Bills to move up and go all-in on a special player in effort to win a Super Bowl this year, this report will bring smiles. ESPN’s Matt Miller stated the Bills were looking to move up from the 27th overall pick.
For what player, though? Miller noted that the Bills would want to move up for either an offensive lineman or skill position player. For offensive linemen, it’s really only Peter Skoronski and O’Cyrus Torrence that fit the mold of an interior guy they’d be looking for; Skoronski projects best as a guard.
As for skill players? There are some highly-intriguing options. Let’s examine four, specifically, that the Bills should move up for.
Skill players the Buffalo Bills should trade up for: Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas
There is only one running back projected to go in the first round, and he’s special. Bijan Robinson is the best running back prospect since the likes of Saquon Barkley. He comes into this class as a guy who can do everything at a high level.
Robinson is explosive, powerful and possesses breakaway speed once he’s in the open field. He is easily a three-down back with the ability to run inside and outside. Catching the football is within his arsenal, as well.
If the Bills were to move up for Robinson, that would likely mean they’d have to trade James Cook. Recently-signed Damien Harris would become a full-time backup, and Nyheim Hines could potentially come in on some third downs just to allow Robinson some rest.
Moving up for a running back is a serious risk, but Robinson isn’t just any running back. This is a player you go get if you’re serious about adding another star to a Super Bowl roster.
