What a wild day it has been for the Buffalo Bills, thus far. At this very moment, the Bills are rumored to be the favorites to land 3-time All Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins via trade from the Arizona Cardinals.

Hopkins has been on the trade block for a few weeks now, and at this point, it’s almost a guarantee that he will be dealt. It’s just more about finding the right landing spot and an ideal return for the Cardinals.

The Bills have long needed to add another talented player to this offense, in order to take some pressure off their pair of stars. Hopkins would certainly count as that type of move.

So, if the Bills were able to land Hopkins in a trade from Arizona, what could happen going forward? There would undoubtedly be some serious ripple effects.

Possible ripple effects of a Buffalo Bills, DeAndre Hopkins trade: Super Bowl expectations would be at an all-time high

Let’s be real for a minute. If the Bills landed Hopkins, national betting outlets would lose their minds. We would see the Bills’ Super Bowl odds skyrocket for next season. It would almost be an unfair amount of pressure placed on Buffalo’s shoulders.

As if last year’s preseason hype wasn’t enough, you add in a 3-time All Pro wide receiver to an offense already featuring Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen? That’s going to cause absolute mayhem, and a whole lot of shifting odds.

Not only would Super Bowl expectations be high, but expectations would never be greater on the shoulders of Allen. After last year watching Allen struggle at times, and hearing some warranted criticism from Brandon Beane, Allen knows he’s got to be better in 2023. Giving him the arsenal of weapons he’d have by adding Hopkins would only further those expectations for his 2023 campaign.
