4 ripple effects from the Buffalo Bills signing running back Damien Harris
The Buffalo Bills were in the market for a bigger running back and they have appeared to find their answer with the reported signing of free agent Damien Harris. The two sides reportedly agreed to a one-year deal on Monday night.
The former New England Patriots running back may not be the biggest running back but he certainly runs for power and can fill the need on this offense. The addition of Damien Harris will now create a ripple effect for the Buffalo Bills through the rest of the offseason and into the upcoming season.

Buffalo Bills won’t be drafting a running back in the 2023 NFL Draft
The running back appeared to be a pressing need for the Buffalo Bills, especially after Devin Singletary signed with the Houston Texans. General manager Brandon Beane made it clear that they wanted to bring in a bigger running back for this offense and the Bills had plenty of options, both in free agency and the NFL Draft.
With the Bills drafting towards the end of the first round, they were a popular landing spot for Bijan Robinson. In addition, this year the class is very deep at the position and if they didn’t draft someone like Robinson the Bills likely would have been able to address the need in any round of the NFL Draft.
However, with Harris now a part of this offense alongside James Cook and Nyheim Hines the running back position is one that the team won’t look to use a draft pick on.
