The Bills struck gold a few years back when they drafted Dawson Knox in the third round out of Ole Miss. Four years later, the Bills have another opportunity to draft a talented tight end in the exact same round.
Iowa has been known as tight end university over the last several years, producing plenty of NFL talent such as George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson and Noah Fant. Next up is Sam LaPorta, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound senior.
The Hawkeye brings the Bills yet another option in the passing game, and like Knox, he’s great after the catch. LaPorta is tough to bring down once he’s got the ball in his hands. His stiff arm is lethal.
The thought of being able to pair both Knox and LaPorta in certain formations is enough to make Bills fans salivate. Throw in Diggs, Downs and one of the talented running backs behind what should be a better offensive line, and this Bills offense is suddenly a whole lot scarier.
