Buffalo Bills Mock Draft: Giving Josh Allen everything he needs
By Ryan Heckman
With their final pick, the Bills go offense again and add to their offensive line depth. Before the team signed veteran free agent Connor McGovern, they desperately needed a replacement for Rodger Saffold. For a while, the draft was certainly an option.
Now, the position isn’t as pertinent. But still, adding a depth piece like Louisville guard Caleb Chandler is a solid addition here by Beane.
Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 300 pounds, Chandler possesses great quickness in getting to his blocks at every level of the field. He’s surprisingly nimble in run blocking, which is where he excels the most.
The biggest con to his game comes from a lack of upper body strength. Despite being quick and getting to his spots efficiently, he doesn’t have enough upper body strength to withhold his blocks for very long. He will struggle against bull rushers with a stout upper frame. So, for now, Chandler is a backup with potential to develop further.
