Brandon Beane said during a recent press conference that the Buffalo Bills are looking to add a “bigger” running back to the roster this offseason. That could be via free agency or perhaps in the draft.  I doubt we’d see any sort of trade for one at this point, despite Bills Mafia calling for Derrick Henry or Dalvin Cook.

I recently wrote an article regarding potentially signing Ezekiel Elliott to fill this need but there are others in free agency, such as Leonard Fournette.  D’onta Foreman was an option as well but he just signed with the Bears, taking him off the table.

The Buffalo Bills certainly need a true power, specifically for those short-yardage situations or goal to go inside the five-yard line.  As much as fantasy football players enjoy Josh Allen getting those scores, Bills fans would rather there be more options than a Josh Allen sneak or a Josh Allen power sweep left or a Josh Allen power sweep right. The Buffalo Bills need someone that can move a pile, not named Josh Allen.

I think the most likely answer will come via the NFL Draft next month.  There is a handful of running backs that could fill this need and the Bills wouldn’t have to spend a high day one or even day two pick on them.  This would save the team a significant amount of money, compared to signing a free agent

Let’s take a look at three running backs I like coming out of college and who should be available for the Bills at any point during Day 3 of the draft.
