Possible Buffalo Bills free agency replacements for Tremaine Edmunds: Lavonte David

Lastly, we come to the one name that’s been circulating around the Bills’ rumor mill for much of Day 1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers free agent linebacker Lavonte David knows nothing other than his home team. He’s spent his entire 11-year career there, but now it looks like it’s time for a change.

He’s won a Super Bowl, he’s played with the greatest quarterback of all-time and been part of some special teams. At this stage in his career, he likely wants another shot at a ring, and Buffalo would be a great fit.

For nine of his 11 seasons in the league, David has tallied over 100 tackles. He’s been a model of consistency, yet hasn’t gotten enough credit for just how good he is. He’s been part of some bad teams in the past, but has been one of the very best linebackers in football for a good chunk of his career.

David is 33 years old and probably doesn’t have a whole lot left in his career, therefore joining a Super Bowl-caliber team has to be on the forefront. Could Buffalo bring him to Western New York? He’d be one of the most ideal replacements for Edmonds at this point, and once Von Miller was back, these two would wreak havoc together.
