Buffalo Bills Mock Draft: A trade for Derrick Henry creates madness
By Ryan Heckman
Lastly, the Bills go back to the defensive side of the ball just in case they need some competition at safety. If Buffalo cannot afford to bring Jordan Poyer back, especially if they traded for a player like Derrick Henry, then they’ll need to work creatively to fill those shoes.
Virginia Tech safety Chamarri Conner was a team captain and a leader of that defense, starting four years for the Hokies. At six feet tall, Conner has good size for a defensive back and can line up in a variety of spots.
Conner can line up over tight ends and match up well, which is something he’ll need to do as a pro, with the league beginning to possess more and more unicorn types at tight end.
He does miss some tackles here and there, which is cause for concern. But, his experience and size should get him some time on special teams at least. With the right development, Conner will have the opportunity to at least become a solid backup in Buffalo.
