Option 2: Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Jaxon Smith-Njigba broke the FBS Bowl Game record for most receiving yards in a single game with a whopping 347 in the 2022 Rose Bowl. This season, he suffered a hamstring injury in the Buckeyes season opener against Notre Dame, which bothered him for the whole season. Scouts and mock drafts alike have widely varying expectations for Smith-Njigba, and his combine will be telling, and teams will be watching his health closely.

If he falls to the Buffalo Bills late in the first round, he should be a consideration. He is an athletic receiver at 6-0, 197 lbs with speed and agility. His combination of physicality and speed from the slot profiles as a player who could immediately improve the Buffalo Bills YAC.

With Diggs as their top wide receiver, Gabe Davis as a deep threat, Khalil Shakir continuing to develop in year 2, and JSN immediately stepping in as a potential impact weapon from the slot, he would fill Beane’s desire to add a playmaker, while improving an area that has been difficult for the Bills to address over the past two seasons.
