Option 1: Bijan Robinson

Buffalo Bills fans do not want to see the team draft a running back in the first round, and conventional wisdom would support that thought given the shift in focus throughout the NFL to become very pass-heavy.

However Bijan Robinson is not your typical running back, he is not just another guy. He may be one of the two or three best players overall in this draft and given Brandon Beane’s strategy of taking the best overall player, and his aforementioned recent assertions at the NFL Scouting Combine that the team needed to add “playmakers” instead of “wide receivers” if Robinson falls, the Bills may take a chance and pair him with James Cook as a potentially explosive backfield.

Robinson dominated as a junior at Texas last year, rushing for 1,580 yards and catching 19 passes for an additional 314 yards and adding 20 touchdowns. His physical profile projects to be an elite bell-cow type back, and pairing him with Cook and Nyheim Hines should open up the offense, decrease the pressure on Josh Allen to be the entire offense, and provide an option that should increase YAC on short dump-off passes.
