Which potentially free agents at running backs could the Buffalo Bills sign this offseason?

The Buffalo Bills have struggled to get consistent production from their run game over the past few seasons and they are likely to make some changes this offseason. Devin Singletary, who was their third round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, is set to be a free agent and this should give Buffalo a chance to go in a different direction at the position.

Last year’s second round pick James Cook should be the primary running back but he isn’t the type of running back that can run between the tackles or pick up first downs in those short yardage situations. For him to be the most effective, he should be paired with a bigger running back that can handle those situations and keep Cook fresh.

In free agency this year, there are some excellent running backs like Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs and Tony Pollard. However, the Bills are probably not in a position to offer the contracts necessary to sign these players.

The good news though is there potentially are some bargains and players that would fit their need perfectly. These are four realistic options for the Bills in free agency to address the running back position.
