This would be more of a luxury pickup than anything, but it might make sense. The Green Bay Packers can save $10.5 million this year by cutting Jones, who is set to count for roughly $20 million against their cap. That’s an absurd number for a running back, but even more absurd for a team that has another capable back in AJ Dillion behind Jones.

Running backs don’t get paid a whole lot these days, nor do they get paid often. Careers are spanning less and less at the position, with offenses finding easy replacements later in the draft each year. Jones, though, is an explosive runner who excels at receiving as well.

Pairing Jones with James Cook would give the Bills a real tandem in the back field. As a Devin Singletary replacement, Jones offers much more juice. He offers a lot more in terms of pass protection, too, which is an underrated aspect of his game.

Jones has four-straight seasons with over 1,000 total yards from scrimmage and is a strong, healthy player, rarely missing time. The Bills would have to get lucky in being able to afford him somehow, but adding Jones to this offense would bring a totally different element.
