Buffalo Bills top salary cap hits for 2023: Tre’Davious White, $16.2 million
Drafted back in 2017, along with Dawkins, cornerback Tre’Davious White has been a fan favorite in Buffalo for a few years. At one point, White was looking like arguably the best cornerback in football, and then the injury bug hit.
White suffered a torn ACL on Thanksgiving of 2021 (a holiday that has spelled bad news for the Bills in two years running) and didn’t return until late November of this past season. The 28-year-old corner came back in pretty rough shape to end the 2022 campaign and didn’t really look like his true self until the final couple of games last year.
In his limited action last season, White gave up a passer rating of 75.8 and allowed one touchdown in six games. If you ask Pro Football Focus, White had plenty of room for improvement. He was given an overall grade of just 61.9.
For White to be worth his $16.2 million cap hit in 2023, he has to show improvement and revert back to how he played pre-injury. A full offseason’s worth of work, recovery and continued training should help him get there.
